Do You Believe in Ghosts

Does anyone believe in ghosts, has anyone ever seen one or heard one? Our house has many unexplained noises, there is the classic bump in the night. We have never had objects moved, but we have heard doors close., steps across the floor at night. One time when my eldest son was sleeping over he saw someone walk past his door and when he checked no one was there. Is it vibrations from the past or do spirits really haunt some places?

If you were ask if you do know the difference between a spirit or ghost or if you might have a ghost in your house, what would you say? Some people think the spirit was trapped between this world and the after life, or they died in the house and live on there. Some people hire ghost hunters to come and see what is going on. I have seen the documentary's on ghost hunters.

Another type of ghost is the poltergeist, an invisible spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects. Places that poltergeists have been reported is India, United States, England, Japan and Brazil. I have seen programs where families have reported being attacked by poltergeist, scratched or objects being thrown. I thought I would have fun with this and see what you have to say. Believe it or not there are people that swear they have seen ghosts.

  1. I lived in a haunted house for a while. The previous owner died in the house and there was also a really bad accident in front of the house. My ghost liked to play with electronics. Lights would go off and on. Alarm clocks would go off in the middle of the night even though they were set for a different time of day. One time I had a portable CD player playing and it stopped in the middle of a song. When I looked at the CD player it was unplugged. I was the only person in the house at the time. My Dad swore up and down that he thought that I was jumping up and down on his bed one night when he was sleeping. He went and checked on me and I was sound a sleep.

After my dad died those things stopped happening but suddenly I had new "hauntings" going on in my house. I to this day swear that it was my dad or his ghost. Just days after his funeral I decided to start smoking. Something I swore that I would never do. Every time a lit a smoke and put it in the ash tray it would go out. This went on for several days until I finally gave up on smoking.

I also have a few other stories about ghosts I'll post them on my blog soon. =)

  2. I can't say I do or don't. Several of our daughters claim they saw my Grandfather in this house, now he never lived here and didn't die here. Rhey said it was like he stopped in to make sure everything was going ok and it didn't scare them. Our one daughter loves the Ghost Busters show on TV.

  9. I'm on the fence. If I say that I don't believe in them, I'll have a haunting in no time flat. My sister lives in our grandparents old house and she swears that our grandfather does naughty things all the time. Like the printer will just start printing for no reason and all it will print out is money signs and smiley faces. And he was a money lover. We were on the phone one time talking about it and my printer printer printed out the same thing and I was across the room. Weird?
I found you through A.Marie and I'm so glad that I did!

  12. Well, whether ghosts exist is a matter of debate but I must admit it is an endlessly alluring topic...Ok, I walk around, my nose high up in the air, saying 'I dont belive in ghosts'. But! I am so so so endlessly scared of them! ;)
Thanks for bringing up this topic ma'am! Visit my blog for one of my trysts with ghosts. :)

  16. Spooky post. As for me, yes, I do believe in supernatural powers and ghosts. It would be foolish on my side to tell that I have seen a ghost but it is even better I don't envisage them as cute as our Brad Pitt or anyone else. Would like to e-mail some ghost stories, though. Do let me know if you're having a story writing contest sometime. Would love to participate...:).

  17. Hi!

While cruising down the blogs I stumbled upon yours. Glad that I did. Found this post interesting. Just recently, my second daughter felt the presence of her dad beside her at the doorway of our house. His trademark cologne floating in the air. One day sometime back, I saw this shadow flit by at the corner of my eye in the den (originally his sick room). And my younger daughter one day last week felt something brush her arm in the bath adjoining the same den. The experiences were nothing scary at all. He passed away 2 yrs ago. You must wonder why visit only now? Well, my children and I are planning on the repairs of the roof which was battered by the storm Ondoy (international name Ketsana). I guess he was just visiting to see if things were okay with us. :-)

    Thanks for this interesting read.
Blessings to you and your family.

  19. I was at my ex's house. We were in bed. It was late at night. Nobody was in the house but us and the cat... When clearly and distinctly I heard someone creep upstairs. Now I know cats and this was no cat. Whoever it was was walking on two lets and treading the stairs slowly, like an old lady. The creaking footsteps proceeded along the hallway to our room then the door swung open with a loud sqeak. No-one was there.
    What was that? I asked.
Oh it's just the ghost, it's always been here.
Apparently her ex boyfriend had actually seen the ghost at the foot of the bed, and it was an old lady.
Don't worry she's friendly. And it was weird: I didn't feel scared...
