TREES

This is dedicated in honor of Mother Earth on Earth Day.
Trees, by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast,
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray,
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair,
Upon whose bosom snow has lain,
Who intimately lives with rain;
Poems are made by fools like me.
But only God can make a tree.

  6. Love the poem and so true. Hope your having a great week-end. It has been warmer here, yesterday it was about 82 and windy and it was that way again today. Very windy. In fact we turned on the AC today, the house just seems to build up so much heat by around 4pm, so we flipped it on today, as much as I hated to.
